In the case of some, but not all, missing teeth, we talk of "partial toothlessness". In the past, when a "bridge" was no longer possible, the usual remedy was a removable prosthesis. With dental implants, the missing elements can be replaced with fixed aesthetic bridges, needing neither mobile prosthesis nor grinding of the adjacent healthy teeth.

Temporary teeth applied in the same session. Going out of the surgery the Patient is not compelled to give up his/her social life.

Post extraction implants and immediate load

A post extraction implant is the extraction of a tooth followed by its immediate replacement with an implant during the same session, as in the two cases previously described. The immediate implant saves the Patient a further surgery session and it is today routine. The time period, from the insertion of the implant, to the fitting of the prosthesis is defined as "load time". Today the load time has been reduced to the point of becoming "immediate" thus resolving the Patient's social life problem. In one session teeth are extracted, implants inserted and temporary teeth positioned on the implants, as in the cases above described.
